Description
The Advantech ADAM-4050 is a robust RS-485 remote I/O module designed for industrial automation and remote monitoring applications. It features eight digital input channels and eight digital output channels, with the outputs implemented as open-collector transistor switches. These outputs can directly control devices like solid-state relays, enabling the management of equipment such as heaters, pumps, and power systems. The digital inputs allow the host computer to monitor the state of limit or safety switches and other remote digital signals. The module supports both Modbus RTU and ASCII communication protocols over the RS-485 interface, ensuring compatibility with various industrial systems. Additionally, it includes a watchdog timer to enhance system reliability by recovering the system in case of communication failures. The ADAM-4050 operates within a temperature range of -10°C to 70°C and accepts a wide input voltage range of 10 to 30 VDC, making it suitable for deployment in harsh industrial environments.
